Is Your Ex on the Rebound? How to Turn Things Around
If you’ve recently broken up and now your ex is in a rebound relationship then things may not be as bad as it seems. People usually jump into rebound relationships because they are trying to get over their ex partner, not because the new person is the love of their life. And let’s face facts; rebound relationships are not known to last very long.
The reason is that the person that your ex is now with is probably the exact opposite to what you were. So if you were a quiet and liked to stay home, she’ll be seeing someone who is a bit of a party animal and vise versa.
She (or he) is looking to balance that part of what was missing from your time together.
So what do you do if your ex has jumped into a rebound relationship and you want them back?
The first thing to do is to sit tight. Take a look at the type of person that your ex is now with. Are they sporty, artsy, a bad boy? This will give you some insight into what your ex thought was missing in your relationship.
While the relationship is running its course, start working on improving yourself in the areas that were lacking and the reasons that you broke up in the first place. I’m not suggesting that you change your personality, but there are things that you can improve on such as being more sociable or more into foreign movies (or less sociable and more into chick flicks) whatever the case may be.
And be available.
If she/he wants to ring and chat then be there, but be casual. Talk to them like you are talking to a friend. You can casually bring up things that you’ve been doing to gauge their reactions. You should be able to tell if they are interested in the new you or not.
Don’t ask your ex how the rebound relationship is going unless they bring it up and even then don’t make judgments or give advice (they’ll soon figure it out on their own).
Pretty soon they’ll want to be back in love with someone who has a little bit of both elements of the relationship and if you’ve been working to balance yourself then that just might be you.
