Get Your Ex to Call Back – The Magic Words You Need To Say

It’s frustrating isn’t it! You want to talk to them to discuss what’s happening in the relationship but it seems like they are avoiding you and won’t call you back. So how do you make an ex return your phone call?
Believe it or not what you say in your message will have a huge impact in whether your ex partner will return your call or not. So whether you want them to return your call, your text message or your IM (instant message), I’m going to let you in on the secret magic words that you need to say to entice them to want to contact you back.
But before we get to what you should say, let’s first have a look at what you need to avoid.
There are two main messages that can damage your relationship further and should be avoided at all costs. They are the message where you plead for your ex to call you back or tell them that they need to call back because of an emergency.
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that both approaches can put you in a worse position than you started from and could potentially damage any further communication that you have with your ex, so even though you might be frustrated that they won’t call you, these approaches will not work.
Instead you need to combine the two most powerful forces of the human mind – curiosity and self interest.
When you combine the two it creates such a compelling hook that they won’t be able to help themselves – they will just have to phone back to see what you are talking about.
Let’s have a quick look at an example so I can show you what I mean.
In your best friendly tone say something like … “Hi Barbara, it’s David here, I’m just calling to say that I really appreciate what you did for me and wanted to thank-you in person, give me a call.â€
Barbara is probably wondering right now what she did that you appreciated (curiosity), and will also feel good because it’s such a positive message (self interest).
Of course, you will need to have worked out beforehand what that ‘thing’ was that you appreciated so much. It should be something believable and real although it doesn’t need to be anything big, small things are fine as well.
If they do call, (and they probably won’t be able to resist), then keep the conversation light and friendly. Don’t talk for too long, just deliver your message and keep things happy and positive.
